Astros Trade: OF Kyle Schwarber $300,000 (2020) SS Dansby Swanson $300,000 (2022) OF Preston Tucker (2020)
Cubs Trade: SS Francisco Lindor $300,000 (2020) C Mike Zunino (2018)
Big fan of Lindor. Didn't want to lose Schwarber, I think he's primed for a pretty big year, but willing to do it for a premier young SS. Swanson a bit of an unknown at this point after being so highly regarded a year ago. Braves are going to give him every opportunity to recapture that magic. Good bounce back candidate with a high pedigree. Tucker finally getting a shot.. his pop could play. Zunino superfluous for Cubs, but helps me a bit to round it out.
Pretty easy negotiating with you Cubs. Thanks.

Cubs accept.
I was hoping to get a young controllable OF and I think Scwarber is poised to have a break out campaign lost weight and in good shape, actually has 4 steals this preseason. Not looking at him because of speed I have that on my team he should bring plenty of power which I need . Swanson hoping he becomes what he was forecast to be, if so will be big return if not will give me a back up SS until other young SS are ready. Tucker is intriguing having a good spring training for Braves and yes he is holding Acuna's spot for a few weeks but if he continues to hit could force himself in lineup and a Markakis trade before trade deadline. Worth rolling dice on.
Lindor is SS depth I have, and wanted young OF back. Zunino is depth have several catchers and felt for all 3 young players needing to add a piece to trade to even out.
good luck with newborn, G-funk and easy negotiations

Veto. This trade doesn't make sense to me. Both Schwarber and Swanson are coming off very meh years and Schawarber is still in the crowded Cubs lineup. If he continues to hit like he did last year he will lose out on playing time real quick. Tucker is going to the bench the minute Acuna gets called up. I don't understand this trade for Cubs and this is no hard feelings for not getting a trade worked out. If this was Lindor for these 3 I might consider passing it but the fact that Cubs is adding to an already lackluster return for probably the two best players in the deal, I just can't pass it.

I understand where you are coming from - but to me this is like Luis Severino 2 years ago was able to acquire him in several leagues for less than market value- and he rebounded from being sent down and being sent to the bullpen and is now probably the best starter on the yankees team with great production - and finished 2nd or 3rd in CY Young voting -
Fantrax even after Schwarbers bad year has him forecast between 27 -31 HR - 66 to 102 RBIs and 2-3 SB (lol) - OBP 325 -361 - SLG 480 - 510 - Runs 66 - 89 Fantrax has Lindor coming off a great year forecast for between 24 -27 HR - 83 - 93 RBIs and 13 - 18 SB - OBP 349 - 358 -SLG 481 - 494 - Runs 90 -115
So Lindor will win Runs/SB/OBP (closer than most would think )against Scwarber - but Schwarber wins HR/RBI/and SLG(closer than most would think) - so in the scoring categories of the league its 3/3 - and he is a young controllable OF that my team needs - and Schwarber is forecast for 100 AB's less and the categories are that close what if he has a break out year and gets those extra ABs
Tucker had a good Spring and i agree about Acuna - but I think the Braves move Markakis this year and if the dont Markakis contract expires this year opening up a spot for Tucker if he continues to perform -
Swanson I think will become a good SS - maybe not live up to #1 overall pick but score runs and get on base - in most leagues I am in he still holds high value - not everyone has given up on him -
So i see it as getting 2 players with solid upside - Scwarber i feel it will happen / Swanson feel pretty good about / and roll the dice on Tucker
I am giving up Lindor one of the top SS - but as we see by fangraphs he isn't rated that much higher in fantasy baseball than Scwarber for the categories this league scores on offense / and actually its pretty even 3 to 3 in categories
and giving up Zunino - in my opinion a throw in for Tucker since Zunino's contract expires this year - no one has inquired about an offer just for Zunino - so apparently he doesn't hold value to the other owners / and if Tucker pans out I have another young controllable - but this part is roll of dice
2 years ago Schwarber for Lindor would have been an even trade - Schwarber coming off injury had a bad year - and it was a leg injury for a power hitter and maybe just took him longer to come back from -
So I guess what I am trying to say is i dont see it as one sided as you do, because there is tremendous upside in 2 of the players i am receiving and you never know on the other - if you had Scwarber on your roster and someone wanted him - how would you value you him

Here is how I see this trade:
Schwarber/Swanson For Lindor
Tucker for Zunino.
I do believe Schwarber is going to bounce back its not like he was all that bad last year he did hit 30 HRs but a slimmer Schwarber could be in for a really big year.

I do not think the CUBS are getting enough, especially if you look at the last trade that was vetoed. I am approving it as it looks, based on the justification written here by the CUBS, like they want this to happen.

I actually like this trade for the Cubs. Swanson will not hit for much power but will hit for average and be an all-star every year. Schwarber has adjusted his hitting approach over the offseason and results so far have been promising. Zunio will require a re-sign to keep after this season and Tucker is most likely a 4th outfielder. So long term it comes down to Lindor for Schwarber and Swanson which I dont believe is a trade that should be vetoed.
