Orioles agree.
Not seeing the entire team before making moves, forced me to have to cut payroll drastically. I was able to trade Aging players in Price and Hosmer who were a bit pricey for younger players that fit into my roster more easily. Schoop was a player I didn't want to lose but was the only way to get the deal done. I do get youngsters in Smith, Wong and Stratton.

I have not checked ownership of all players involved, but I have evaluated all players involved in trade. David Price is coming off his worse year as a pro, and is at an all time low of player value, and as of right now not worth being a resign player. But, with all of that being said I am not sure I would trade him straight up for any of those players. Hosmer is on a friendly contract at $6,000,000 signed thru (2020) no way I would trade him for any 2 of those players that are being traded - (Smith was/is a good prospect) (Stratton is forecast to be 4th SP in SF so nothing special but will produce a few numbers )(Wong decent average but not much else at 2b as far as fantasy numbers) (Tomas not sure how much playing time he will get in Arizona, but who knows rotoworld right now has him as 3rd LF) - So if you feel Smith will be a solid producing player when he gets back from injury and if he can beat out Adrian Gonzalez for the starting job - then ok Hosmer and Price for the return of players listed - but Schoop is not a throw in player with his contract (he will be a resign player in 2 years) - with Schoop included i feel I have to veto this trade - that is giving up too much to get the salary issue corrected - need to go back to drawing board Here is a link to what a trade evaluator thinks of the trade - www.fantasysp.com/trade/mlb/9684098/smith-wong-tomas-stratton-price-hosmer-schoopVeto (0-1) www.fantasysp.com/trade/mlb/9684098/smith-wong-tomas-stratton-price-hosmer-schoop

Veto #2, I would approve without Schoop in the deal or redo the deal.

I tend to agree with Cubs and Red Sox. Hate to reject a trade when Ken needs to get in under the cap but this one seems pretty lopsided. I'd say the three best assets in the deal are going to AZ. Price was injured last year but the stats were fine. He's healthy now so no reason to treat one year @ 10 M like it's an albatross. Having a resign for a year when you have the space doesn't hurt at all. You're getting Hosmer's prime for $6 M per year. I don't see how Schoop can be included too, he's a top asset. The four player return is all question marks. Can't approve it.
