The Milwaukee Brewers would like to re-sign Ryan Braun to a 2 year contract worth $12,000,000 per year> Ryan Braun $12,000,000 (2019)((RE-Sign))
Braun's Previous Salary: OF Ryan Braun - $12,000,000
While Braun was significantly below his three year average in Plate Appearance due to injury there is little to suggest that his ability to maintain an average north of .290 as diminished. Also, if he stays healthy and gets his plate appearances up, the is every possiblity that his home run and RBI totals should approach his career average. He will be 34 years old entering into this season but will be moving to 1st base so that should help mitigate some of the wear and tear on his body and hopefully reduce the risk of injury. All this being said, at 34 I do not see any reason to increase his current salary. However, despite the age his move to 1B should help maintain his current value and therefore I do not feel a salary reduction justified either and am maintaing his current salary.

This in my opinion is more than a generous offer for Braun - Charlie Blackmon just resigned for $10,500,000 -
Braun in fantrax last 3 year rankings 2017 - #72 2016 - #9 2015 - #6
projected this year #38 OF -which would translate into #18 1B - his projected rating is 72.84
Where I may not agree with where fantrax has him projected - I also dont believe he is a top 10 player at his position of OF - and if he does move to 1st he might barely make the top 10 - a contract of $12,000,000 to me signifies he is at minimum a top 5 at his position, also he will be 36 during the contract that is offered, which I do think entitles to a small discount - I would like to see a salary of 9,000,000 - 10,000,000 - I am not sure how everyone else will feel on this one, but I just feel it is to much and will set a bad precedent for future resigns at that value
