Angels send: SP Chris McMahon COL - prospect
Brewers trade: 1.2 2020 Contraction 2.2 2020 Contraction 3.2 2020 Contraction
Brewers accept. I had little time to prepare, and my aging mind is frustrated with the process. Thanks Angels for trading a solid pitching prospect, to strengthen my minors.

Angels accept.
There is a player I am targeting here. Picking up a few extra contraction selections in return for a quality prospect.

I think this is an overpay for a prospect who I find as high #2 for the Rockies but as low as the mid-teens depending on the prospect list, especially since he was a mid 3rd round FYPD pick last year. I'm not going to veto because I don't think the Brewers had to give up as much to add McMahon but I would understand if another TAB member did.
Also, as a reminder to anyone on the clock, you can always pick your trade partner's target to keep the draft moving and then work the trade with the players involved.

I won't make any friends here with my vote but I think this is clearly an overpay. I would approve for a first and a third maybe, but not all 3 contraction draft pick. I get the timing witch is tough for Brewers. I always struggle to make a valid list for contraction but I will put a veto on this trade.
In my mind Brewers has to keep is second or Angels add something.
Sorry,
Veto #1

This is a very bad trade in my view from the Brewers prospective. But, I will defers to Brewers GM if he is good with the trade. I reserve vetos for collusion and one sided trades that affects competitive balance. This is neither of that.

APPROVAL # 2 From the constitution: Draft picks will be treated in voting as if they were the player equivalent to what could be had at that pick. For instance, in the upcoming contraction draft, if one were to trade the 1st overall pick, it would be treated as if they were trade the top player from the 4 organizations being drafted. Conversely, if it were the 20th overall, pick, it would be treated as if they were a lesser player, albeit still a major leaguer. Use your heads when trading draft picks.

Just a humble note: Until the 3 picks are made, it is difficult to call an over-pay. McMahon is Colorado's 8th ranked prospect (RotoWire) and #6 (Baseball America). If & when he comes up, he will be pitching in "Colorado".

It's my feeling and interpretation of the constitution. And maybe I am wrong.

You can't just go straight off "rules" all the time and we interpret them differently sometimes anyway.
Brewers has only been in the league for about a week. He doesn't feel like he has the time needed to properly prepare for this draft.
Is it better for his team to have 3 skipped picks or roll the dice on turning them into a prospect that he likes?
Would I have preferred if Brewers got at least one more piece included? Probably. But he is getting a guy who in 2020 was a early 2nd Rd pick.
