Angels accept.

Saving ~$32 mil in salary and a resign slot and throwing in Kochanowicz who is several years away and may or may not become anything. Yan is a bullpen arm - if developed properly could be trusted for more high leverage work.

Trade gives me alot of flexibility (now $66 mil in cap space) and puts me in position to hopefully contend for a division title in year 1. ChiSox gets a couple of fliers that should make an impact in some capacity for him in the future.

Nice salary dump by Angels. The return for the WhiteSox is very light but most of the salary expires in ‘21 so it’s approvable in my book.

I considered taking Kenny up on his offer as I have a lot of open cap and wouldn't have minded adding a couple prospects, but in the end I valued the cap space a bit more highly and didn't reach out. Bball getting paid to eat some decent cap numbers but will be out from under most of them after this season. Smart move to bolster your prospects with guys you may like

I would have just taken the cap hits and kept my prospects but that doesn't really matter deal itself is fine when taking into account how much money the Angels are saving.
