Twins accept this trade. Needed a 1B replacement after Ryan Zimmerman elected to seat out. I have an over abundance of OF in paid minors so I can afford to trade McKinney. Also with 5 FYPD 3rd round picks for 2020, I should be able to move back up the draft board if needed. The price makes sense for Twins even for a 2020 expiring contract in Kendrick.

Mariners accept - probably not contending this year - so giving up Kendrick hurts at the moment at 2B for me - getting McKinney who might regain some of his shine and an upgrade in drafts picks seems like a fair price. Getting younger and more depth for my team seems like a good a direction to go
