Twins accept.

Trading away a top 100 player in Rosario but he is in the final year of cheap rookie contract (tough he is a resign candidate). I also traded away excess in OF and RP.

I get in return a Top 100 prospect in Balazovic, a prospect I really like in Mesa, a 1B that I need, as I have none on my MLB roster, in Bird and an extra OF prospect Thompson-Williams (injured-out for 2020)

I am not yet in my true competitive window. I believe this makes me stronger long term.

I’ve been restocking and rebuilding since I joined this league. Because of that, and a little bit of luck with the White Sox hitting it big in IFA, I have a nice core of young talented bats. Because of that, I also have a ton of cap space AND the re-sign room necessary to keep Rosario, who I envision being 1/3 of an outfield that will have Ronald Acuña and Luis Robert in it with him by the end of the year.

Giving up Balazovic isn’t ideal but isn’t the end of the world as he was a secondary piece in the Bauer trade to begin with. My rotation isn’t especially strong but I do have a lot of cap space and adding Rosario with Abreu, Semien, Tatis, Alonso and Acuña while also having a handful of prospects knocking on the door of the majors, I might finally be able to start being competitive.
