Twins accept. Trading Gardner’s expiring contract and excess in OF for prospects. I always liked Reyes and hopes he can finally put it together. The others are roll of a dice; Hoping I come up Roses !

Been tied up with free agency stuff in 2 other league but will vote sometime today.
Inital thought was seemed Phillies was giving up a decent amount for a rental and part-time OFer but I need to do more research on the prospects involved.

Context to consider:
OF Magneuris Sierra — Acquired by Marlins from Cardinals. He offers speed but projects out to be a 4th outfielder. Currently (last year and this spring) struggling to beat out Lewis Brinson and Harold Ramirez to majors. And trust me, as a Marlins fan, it is a huge indictment to say anyone is struggling to beat out Brinson at this point. His path to the majors has been made even harder by Marlins inexplicably signing a bunch of old guys in the Outfield. See exhibit A&B, Matt Kemp & Cory Dickerson(why Jeter, why?!?) in addition to the desire to play Villar in the outfield. To sum up Sierra, he maybe a speedy version of what Jordan Luplow is right now in two years (I.e. 4th OF). Jordan Luplow (who I am trading) is Jordan Luplow right now.
SP Cody Sedlock (SP-BAL) Huge arm when drafted but Shoulder, Elbow (specifically strained flexor mass) maybe TJ in future, and effects of Thoracic outlet syndrome, has derailed him thus far. Also pitching to the tune of 13.50era and 2.68WHIP in first 3 starts a bit worrying but bounced back nicely to end 2019. Health and bounce back may lead to mid rotation arm in 3years but big dice roll.
SP Ian Clarkin (SP-CHW) If the Cubs and WhiteSox stops waiving him maybe he will be a mid-inning reliever or 5th starter in the bigs as soon as this year.
Reyes — We all know. Health and stop doing stupid things off field and he is a star. No health or cannot earn trust and he is a high leverage bullpen guy. Still has options so may go back to minors. He is obviously who this deal is built around.

Alex Reyes actually has a end date of 2024 he passed 50 IP last year (2016 46 IP, 2018 4.0 IP & 2019 3.0 IP)
Sierra has a 2023 end date.
Let me know if this changes trade at all before I vote.

That’s fine with me. I’ll check in with Phillies but don’t imagine he would care that I have them for less time on the cheap.

I think the Luplow for Sierra swap is sort of a wash its about preference really since both have same years of control (2023).
Which leaves Brett Gardner for Alex Reyes, Cody Sedlock and Ian Clarkin. Considering how Stanton and Hicks have issues staying healthy Gardner should continue to find steady ABs and is coming off a year in which he hit 28 HR 10 SB even at his age. Not sure I would trade 3 specs for 1-yr of Gardner but all 3 of the prospects come with their own set of issues which add some uncertainty to them.

Approve #3, there is potential with the prospects to win the trade but it will probably take a couple years to be everyday players.
