Twins offer 5 years (4+1TO)
2019 - 81 2018 - 87 2017 - 0
0 + 87 + 81+ 81 = 249/4 = 62.25% * $13 M = $8,060,000=> $8,100,000M
SP/UTL Shohei Ohtani (LAA) $8,100,000 - 2023(TO2024)(Re-Sign))

This is a weird case i almost think we need to take his hitting salary and his pitching salary then average them out.
Also think since he hit 2 yrs and pitched only one year its odd that you would choice to use pitching over hitting IMO.

I didn’t consider it as I only saw one set of score under hitting. I don’t see pitching scores.

I didn’t consider it as I only saw one set of score under hitting. I don’t see pitching scores. Fantrax score should take into account all stats as they count him as ONE PLAYER where yahoo would count him as 2. But IMO if your picking hitting ($14 MIL) or pitching ($13 MIL) to me Ohtani in 2-yrs has clearly done more hitting than pitching due to Tommy John. But I would also be open to using both hitting and pitching then taking the average for his salary. To me that seems pretty fair as he isn't truly just a hitter or truly just a pitcher.

Not sure I understand what is being proposed. are we saying not to use fantrax scores or are we saying multiply by $13.5m (average of 13 & 14) or something else? I am fine either way but we should add an addendum to the rules so as the treat all future SP / hitters similarly. I believe a couple are coming up through the minors.

Hitting - $8.7 Mil Pitching - $8.1 Mil AVG - $8.4
If we took the avg for hitting and pitching it would be
$8,400,000 (2023)(2024TO)

I agree but most leagues also didn't allow a guy like him to be signed for 2-yrs then get re-signed either before they had any real data. But ya we should come up with a way to handle 2-way guys and I think what I proposed here is pretty fair and you still end up with a heck of a bargain on him.

I am not opposed. I am just not sure what the proposal is. Can you do the proposed calc (show your work 😂);that’ll work for me.

we were saying the same thing 62.25% * $13.5m give you $8.4 as well.

Good with that? In the end it saves you a little bit because I do think if picking hitting or pitching he should be given the hitting salary having been a hitter for 2-yrs and a pitcher just for 1 year during his 2 early years of his career. So this way you sort of split the difference.
