Astros trade:
SS Francisco Lindor - 300,000 (2020)
Red Sox trade:
3B Yoan Moncada - 300,000 (2022)
It might be kind of a head scratcher but I'm thinking the production isn't too dissimilar and the ceiling is close enough where saving ~$12 M + re-sign tag in 2020 and 2021 makes it a decent gamble. Moncada has tools for days. I think having him at minimum plus being able to re-sign someone else will be more valuable to my team at end of day.
Lindor - .284/.335/.518, 32 HR, 74 RBI, 101 R, 22 SB, 598 ABs Moncada - .315/.367/.548, 25 HR, 79 RBI, 83 R, 10 SB, 511 ABs

Red Sox accept. Willing to take a 1 year star and ReSign him, this will shore up my middle infield.

Moncada may have tools to dream on but he has only had one year of success, last year. He also has a history of injuries. He played in more games in 2018 than he did in 2019 and only hit .235 with a .715 ops. Re-sign or not, I dont feel that Moncada is worth Lindor straight up. Plus they are only 2 years apart age wise.

Its a pretty risk deal for Astros but his track record indicates that he knows what he is getting himself into here. I personally wouldn't do this deal myself as Lindor has proven to be the better player but its hard to deny the upside that Moncada still posses.

This trade is 4 days old. Lets get to voting on it one way or another its unfair to the GMs involved to keep waiting.

No hard feelings if you want to deny either. I get it. Just would appreciate some finality so I can get back to it. Thanks guys.

I like the Lindor side a lot more but this deal is fair-enough taking into account contracts and re-sign ramifications.
