Rockies trade
Greyson Greiner (DET) (2024) Ryan O'Hearn (KC) $300,000 (2023) *He's on my paid minors Eduardo Nunez (FA) $11,000,000 (2019) 2020 Team option
Athletics trade
Didi Gregorius (NYY) $12,000,000 (2019)
Rockies trade for an upgrade at SS in hopes of making a run to the playoffs. I give up lower tier prospects. Nunez is a salary dump to make the trade happen.

Athletics Accept. Gregorius is struggling right now but has proven himself to be a weapon when things are clicking. I considered him as a re-sign candidate after this season but if I can use him now to add some guys that have shown a little bit of potential and then target him if he hits free agency it is a smarter play. Greiner was envisioned as the full time catcher in Detroit this season, but has been dealing with injury for a good portion of the year. When healthy he should provide quality defense and the occasional decent offensive game. I know he's not the long term answer for my team at catcher, but he is signed through 2024 which gives me a body there until one of my prospects gets the call.
O'Hearn is the bigger piece of trade for me. 1B is another area of weakness on this team and I feel like O'Hearn can be the guy there for a couple of years. In 2018 he closed the year out with very solid offensive numbers. Enough for the Royals to start the year with him as their 1B. He had a slow start to the season, expected as pitchers figure out a player. However in his last 26 ab's for AAA he is hitting close to .350 and mashing the ball. I think he'll adjust his approach given another shot in the bigs and while not a high average guy he should provide decent pop.

I think Didi is likely worth more than this but not enough to veto.
