Reds accept.  I wont be re-signing Rojas this off-season and I have limited use for him right now as I have plenty of 1B, 3B, and SS options that are producing better than Rojas.  Adding Gardner makes the salary work better, and I am much more of a fan of the 2020 FYPD draft class than this year's.  Doing this deal opens a roster spot for me when Eovaldi comes off of the DL and gives me an upgraded option over Gardner with someone that has a pretty hot bat in a lineup that should allow for plenty of RBI opportunities.

Bruce is having a good year and being in the Phillies offense should allow him to keep it going. But, he is 32 and as such is not a great piece for a rebuild. The draft picks I get in return should recoup some of the draft value I gave up in the Bauer trade. This trade was about the picks for me; the players are fill in.

This trade make sense especially in light of the Bauer trade that cost me 2 draft picks.
