Mariners Trade:
2B Ketel Marte $8,000,000 (2024) (Re-sign)
1B Brandon Belt $5,800,000 (2025)

Reds accept. We've been working this one for a bit with Seattle and finally agreed. Ultimately, for us it comes down to re-sign flexibility. Marte makes less than what it's going to cost to re-sign McMahon at 2B, and puts up slightly better numbers. Bassitt leaving frees up the re-sign I need, and can pay Bieber with that tag, if necessary, to replace Bassitt. We're not confident that Jansen has much left in the tank, and are willing to get rid of the lengthy contract he's locked in.

I accept - I have 2B depth and was looking for RP and getting Jansen will help my bullpen - didn't really want Bassitt my SP is deep, but it was necessary to make the trade work with the Reds - sending Belt back to help offset money -
