Twins accept.
Twins needed a back up at SS with Nico Hoerner starting the year in the minors. I have a robust situation with OF in the minors including OF Leody Taveras who I will likely promote soon. So trading OF excess for SS that I need.
DeJong is establish at 27years old and will bat in the middle of STL’s offense. Giving up two solid but unspectacular OF even with the difference in years on Min. $300K contracts make sense for Twins.

Padres agree.
With Bogaerts and Willi Castro available for me at SS trading DeJong for OF depth made sense. Slater was once a top 4 in the SFG org. and Straw will finally get the chance to start. Both provide much needed OF depth for me especially after this season and I have another deal in the works for Gallo.
